The Southern Minnesota Education Consortium (SMEC) is a special education cooperative consisting of 7 local school districts including Alden-Conger, Glenville-Emmons, Grand Meadow, Kingsland, Leroy-Ostrander, Lyle and Southland. In the summer of 2019 Joseph broke ground on this $3.4 million project at the intersection of I-90 and Highway 56.
