In 2004, Hormel Foods, Quality Pork Processors, and Joseph teamed up to build a $7.5 million dollar new plant facility in  Albert Lea, MN.  The food process plant started production on schedule in July of 2005, and is the first major facility built on a green field site for Hormel since the flagship plant in Austin, MN was erected in the 1970s.  Most of the 72,000 SF plant maintains a design temperature of 40 degrees with the exception of the office and welfare areas.  Joseph served as the single source design-builder and efficiently completed the project from concept drawings to occupancy in 11 months.

Joseph’s millwright crews also installed all the process equipment for the rib boning, trimming, and packaging lines.  In order to meet the tight schedule, the equipment installation had to be overlapped with the building construction; thus occupancy and process start-up virtually occurred in the same week.
